WELCOME

From Felix & the team

“Six months. One clear path. Built with you in mind · wherever you are in your trading journey.”

· FELIX, FOUNDER OF GOAT ACADEMY

Your full 6-month path from complete beginner to independent trader.

This month is all about getting comfortable with the basics of your broker, the platform, and how everything works. By the end of it, you should feel confident navigating your tools, understand how trades work, and have started paper trading without risking real money.

Keep it simple. This is about building your foundation.

Remember we host live sessions every day with our CSM (Client Success) Management Team if you have any questions about how to use the Roadmap or anything else in the Academy.

STEPS THIS MONTH
01Set Up Your Trading EnvironmentNEXT UP
SESSIONS AND TOOLS FOR THIS STEP
Broker Help · TOS
Broker Help · IBKR
Broker Help · Fidelity / Robinhood

Get your broker and platform set up first. You don't need to open lots of different broker accounts. If you already have one you're comfortable with, stick with it. The main thing is to take time to get familiar with it early, where everything is, how to place trades, how to navigate the platform. That familiarity saves you from roadblocks later.

Our coaches often suggest ThinkorSwim, Fidelity / Robinhood, or Interactive Brokers (for international students), simply because we know how they align with the training. It's not a requirement. Just pick one broker and get confident with it.

There's an optional TOS (Think or Swim) set-up video to make sure your charts, tools and defaults are right from day one. If you're ever unsure, drop a question in the questions chat.

02Complete Academy Modules & Set Up Your Charting Workspace
SESSIONS AND TOOLS FOR THIS STEP
Brett TradeVision · Weekly YouTubeOpen
Jesús' Weekly Charting Session
Felix's Proprietary ToolsOpen

Once your broker is set up, move on to your charting tools. Complete the Academy Modules and set up your TradeVision.io workspace with the indicators we use throughout the programme: the 50 / 150 / 200 moving averages, RSI, and MRSI.

Join a live TradeVision livestream on YouTube, or watch a previous recording, to learn how to use the platform effectively. You can also attend Felix's Proprietary Tools, or catch up on the replays. If you have a question, chances are someone else has already asked it, so the recordings are just as useful.

03Learn How to Find Stocks (Screening)
SESSIONS AND TOOLS FOR THIS STEP
(WSP) On Screening, Entries and Exits
Screener ScrapbookOpen

Review Carlos's Screener Scrapbook and attend his group session on screening (entries and exits). This helps you understand what makes a stock worth watching and how to filter noise from opportunity. You can catch up on screening recordings in the recordings area.

04Understand Market Context (Felix Notes)
SESSIONS AND TOOLS FOR THIS STEP
Mid-Week Markets Update & Q&A
Markets and Investment Discussion · BK
Global Economic Outlook with Jesús
Stock Market Fundamentals
Market Review · BK / Brett / Patrick
Topic of the Week (Investing)
Felix NotesOpen

This is where you learn to interpret broader market context, understand why certain stocks are highlighted, and use professional notes as a learning tool, not a signal service. You are learning how experienced traders think, not what to copy.

05Learn Risk Before Reward
SESSIONS AND TOOLS FOR THIS STEP
Risk Management for Beginners
(WSP) Stop Loss Workshop
(WSP) Estimating Portfolio Risk

Before you ever trade live, you'll be introduced to risk management fundamentals: position sizing, stop placement, and maximum allocation. Read the Basic Risk Management Guide carefully.

Why managing drawdowns matters: the gain needed to break even grows faster than the loss. A 50% loss requires a 100% gain to recover. Protecting capital is your first edge. Your position is driven by your maximum loss, not by how much you want to make. Ask how much you're willing to lose, and the reward will take care of itself.

Download the Basic Risk Management Guide.
06Book a Coaching Call or Join a Live Q&A
SESSIONS AND TOOLS FOR THIS STEP
Live Q&A with CSMs

If you have 1-1 Mentoring, you'll see 'BOOK A CALL' on the left-hand sidebar. Book your first 1-on-1 coaching call this month (up to 2 per week). Otherwise, use the questions channel or a Group Coaching Live Q&A to ask setup questions, review charts, clarify risk concepts, and build confidence early. There are no bad questions here.

07Start Paper Trading & Journaling
SESSIONS AND TOOLS FOR THIS STEP
Trade Logging and Analysis

Begin paper trading and keep a simple journal of every trade: your reasoning, your confirmations, your emotional state, and your outcome. This habit is where consistency is built, without risking real money.
